As noted to the right, those of us from Massachusetts decided to drive out to Pittsburgh. Bob and Johnny decided that it would be a good idea to start the trip out with a night at Foxwoods Casino in CT, and then depart for PA in the morning. Well, I couldn't pass that opportunity up, so Crazy, Bridgey & I joined them on Wednesday night. My trip poker luck continued as I won a sit & go tourney and then more than held my own at a $1/$2 cash table, netting an extra $700 for the trip!

When we finally arrived in Pittsburgh, the guys let us know they were at a bar with a flashing red light outside around the block from the hotel (somebody has to get me the name). We got there around 7:00pm and there were 2 other patrons in the bar/restaurant besides us Baseball Trip folk. They left soon enough and we asked the bartender (again, I need a name from somebody) what time they usually close. She informed us around 8pm, and it was now getting close to 9. We asked if she wanted us to leave, and she instead offered to lock the doors and let us stay as long as we wished ... Wow, our very own bar at our disposal to start off a trip - It doesn't get much better than that.

The final night there, we decided to head to Bar Louie's to watch the Sox game and enjoy a few libations and each other's company. Well, the night evolved into Frank & I becoming known as the "shot boys" as we decided to try to kill each other with shots. Each time we SAW the waitress, he was ordering a shot of Yukon and I got a shot of Crown. It didn't rival SF's final night for group involvement in the drinking, but it certainly is a night that neither Frank nor I will forget any time soon (what we actually do remember from the night).

Again, looking for others' input and pics from the 2009 trip!

The proximity of Pittsburgh to New England allowed those of us from there the option of driving again to our trip destination. When Bridgey offered up the use of his truck, Crazy and I jumped on board and then the craziness began (see to the left).

Pittsburgh also marked the return of one of the original trip goers: Matt-U. It was great to have him back and I hope he is able to keep up his pledge to make every trip possible from now on. Tom was also another to rejoin us after an 8 year sabatical, and I doubt it will be 8 years before he comes back!
