In 2005 we headed out to the great northwest to see the Seattle Mariners play the Angels. While there, we enjoyed the local brews and delicacies, and Chad and I actually took a tour of Qwest Field. Seahawks fans like us since childhood don't get a chance to visit the Pro Shop of our favorite team very often, so I am proud to say that between the two of us, we spent less than $1,000 in there after the tour (that was what the over/under was set at by Vegas insiders).

Safeco Field is a fabulous place to watch a game, and the city of Seattle is a very hospitable host for any out of town visitors. I will have to get some details from the guys on the trip, because my memories are a little fuzzy after a couple years …

Due to three separate reasons, we lost Bob, Frank, and Michael in the last few weeks before the trip:

  • Bob promises that he will never back out again at the last minute, and he is willing to pay whatever beer fine is handed down to him in SD.
  • Frank is very much looking forward to meeting the group in SD in '06, where he is wondering what other rookies may be joining him.
  • Michael would be welcomed back by many members of the group to any of our future trips. However, that would probably create an uninhabitable home environment for our Julie, so trip invites will no longer be sent to Michael (Good luck establishing yourself in LA-LA Land ... I enjoyed our annual talks at some of the country's finest watering holes and stadiums).
