Lefty O'Doul's will be etched in the memory
of all that attended this year's trip for a very long time!
Thanks to Dan Doherty and his staff for letting us entertain
ourselves in our own special way (see
photos).
Pac Bell (that's what it was called when we
were there) was an awesome baseball stadium for young and
old. It's quite comical to see just how crowded it gets in
the right field stands when Mr. Bonds strides to the plate.
The garlic fries are worth the trip, as long as you get to
Lefty's to cap off the night!
On the Oakland side of things, we were all excited
to see a big Red Sox win with a Pedro vs Hudson matchup, and
then Huddy throws the game of the year for him and 2-hits
the Sox. Some of us were also able to witness a Raiders /
Rams preseason game in Oakland. So, we could at least see
the appeal of the stadium for that sport, because it stinks
as a place to go to a baseball game.
Trip Highlights:
- The final night at Lefty's sets the standard
for future trips to judge how well a group can get along
- I can't believe that Clancey lost to 2 women in an Irish
Car Bomb race
- Witnessing Matt V. asking a woman that came
to Lefty's to meet him (a friend had given Matt her #) the
"crab sauce" question as a way to open the conversation.
He still probably has no idea why me and Clarky had a better
shot with her than he did from that point on.
