Back in 1992 my father had a great idea
... "Hey Patrick, why don't we go up to Toronto with some
of your friends and see the Red Sox play at the new Skydome?"
A simple enough idea, but when Pistol told us
at dinner in Toronto "If you guys do this trip every
year, and make sure you do it EVERY YEAR. When you get older
and are married and have families, job responsibilities, and
a bunch of other things going on in your life, you will always
be able to attend your Annual Baseball Trip!"
Well, HE WAS RIGHT!!! Our families and loved
ones have "allowed" us to attend these trips for
the past 16 years, and now we're getting dangerously close
to having kids of our own on one of these silly ventures.
A big thanks goes out to those folks that have understood
why we now, more than ever, need to get together at least
that one time a year for our trip!
I hope those understanding people are still
so understanding when they really sit back and think about
our 2008 Baseball Trip. Why, you may ask ...
Well, we are headed to Las Vegas in March next
year to be there for March Madness™. Jeff and I decided
that since the majority of the core group of attendees are
turning 40 in 2008, we should make the trip a special and
memorable one. Where else could we do that better than in
Vegas? So, the baseball gets shuffled aside for a year, maybe
- There are already murmurs about a weekend trip to Camden
Yards some time in August, so stay tuned!
This year's trip is to Houston from June 28th
through July 2nd, to watch the Astros take on the Colorado
Rockies! We are hoping to witness Craig Biggio's 3,000th career
hit! Just goes to show you, each and every one of these trips
we go on leads to memories for a lifetime!!!
Thanks Pistol, you are certainly missed, but
never forgotten!
